“Unfortunately I am not able to give this company a 5 star review and because of our experience feel it important to post here so that other customers have clearer communication and a better result than we did. The tiling itself is great. The grouting, sealing etc is very well done. However, we asked for (and were quoted) the removal of the original flooring. Chip tiles that had been damaged by leaks and swollen especially where the toilet and sink were located (this becomes important later). The tilers were unable to do this part of the job (fair enough) and instead of discussing this change in plan with us, decided to put the new floor on top of the old floor. The sub floor was already nailed down before we became aware of the change in plan and as such, it did not allow us the opportunity to look at another means of floor removal. We were at home at the time so a conversation could have easy taken place without delay before the sub floor was even nailed down. The change in floor height (sub floor plus tile) resulted in a domino effect of problem solving for us, as original anchor points for the vintage sink and standing cabinet no longer line up, the room's door had to be shortened and there is such a significant change in height from the hall to the tiles that we have had to put a shim in to create less of a trip hazard. This was all before the plumber came back to reinstall the toilet and sink, at which point it became apparent that the floor is not even level, especially in the places where the swollen tiles were left underneath. This resulted in more problem solving and having to add shims so that the toilet etc will not wobble. While a small discount was offered to mitigate the issues caused by this lack of communication, ultimately we did not get what we asked for and the laundry list of issues that we have had to solve has made the whole process really disappointing.”
