“If you want to deal with pleasant people then go elsewhere. The accounts person, who was the person drawing up the contract, was most unpleasant, rude and shouty. I suggest she hang up the phone properly before making rude remarks about clients ( using the word commonly associated with a female dog) I had accepted a quote to get a property reroofed however I did not proceed with this company as the terms of contract were unacceptable to the trustees (and seems that were not negotiable). After waiting quite a few months since I accepted the quote, RSL refused to make the contract to me personally and insisted that it be made to the trust that is the legal owner of the property. The trustees of the property wanted a trustee limitation clause included in the contract and RSL would not reply fully to my questions about the acceptability of this in the contract. The email response was "We have rules around what can/can’t be added". When I went to pick up the contract, I politely asked why a contract could not be made out to me personally. The response I received was very surprising and did not address the question I was asking. The accounts person's first response which was said in a loud aggressive manner was .. "You and I have a dispute". I found this to be a very odd way to respond to a reasonable question. Even though RSL had made a quote to me personally they were insisting that the contract be made to another party. It should also be noted that the RSL’s standard contract includes a "Memorandum of Mortgage" clause. This is not a standard clause in contracts with other roofing companies.”

“They did a good job of the roof and clearing away plus trimmings and moldings. The house looks good. They are good at their job and do mostly the right things. However, during the work to remove the old roof a mishap occurred, and they created a crack in my ceiling through something falling on it or someone stepping on my ceiling inside for which I will have to pay an insurance excess to get fixed. There was no apology or offer to pay for this, which I am disappointed about. They were told about it and came to look at it, but nothing came of it. Their response below contains untruths. There was no "request for an internal inspection" prior and the damage in the form of a ceiling crack occurred on the first day they began work and I heard it the moment it occurred! The ceiling is made of an extremely hard material so this damage was caused by the activity on the roof. I am concerned they do not take responsibility for damage they cause. This is the only beef I have with them.”
